The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is a recent, ongoing global infection that has affected more than 200 countries worldwide, with the United States having the highest per capita infection rate. Professional organizations, accrediting bodies, licensing boards, and government agencies have been important partners to academic institutions and the health care system during this pandemic response.
